Multi-tenant IoT platform · Ethiopia

One IoT platform. Every tenant.

For Ethiopia's operators, utilities, enterprises and government. Water and power meters, fleets, coolers, telecom sites and energy assets run as tenants on one in-country platform, with telebirr payments built in. A new service is a configuration, not a project, and the platform is open: bring your own devices, apps and tenants.

The platform

Built once. Shared by every tenant.

Four layers, open protocols, hosted in an Ethiopian data centre. Each tenant brings its devices and its rules; everything else is already there.

Sixteen shared capabilities

Connectivity, device registry, OTA, rules, alarms, work orders, dashboards, reports, payments, SMS, GIS, APIs and more. Tenants reuse them; nothing is rebuilt.

Strict isolation

Each tenant sees only its own devices, data and users, with its own tariffs, rules and branding. Per-tenant keys and a full audit trail.

Payments built in

Prepaid top-ups, postpaid bills, offline tokens and SMS reminders through telebirr and operator billing, from day one.

Open by design

REST APIs and SDK for billing, CRM, NOC and partner systems; any device over cellular or LoRaWAN can be certified on.

One hierarchy, many tenants

The platform owner resells through partners while keeping the contract. A utility can run national, regional and district views inside one tenant.

Three isolation tiers

Pick the separation each tenant needs; all three run on the same platform.

SharedLogical isolation with per-tenant keys. SMEs and pilots.
Dedicated schemaOwn database schema and quotas. Utilities and large enterprises.
Dedicated instanceSeparate compute in the in-country data centre. Security-sensitive government.

Use cases

Six tenants today. Yours next.

Each use case is a tenant with its own devices and rules on the shared core. Tags show what it reuses. The list is open: any connected asset can become a tenant.

About us

An Ethiopian IoT company, built to run the platform in the field

OmniSense Tech designs, deploys and operates connected-device platforms for Ethiopia's utilities, telecom operators, enterprises and government. We are based in Addis Ababa, invoice in ETB and work under Ethiopian law.

The platform core and devices come from international manufacturers proven at national scale; our engineers localise them for Ethiopian tariffs, networks and payments, install them, and run them to carrier service levels. Operators can own the platform outright; utilities, enterprises and agencies join it as tenants.

Go live

A new tenant in five steps

Only the device adapter and the domain screens are built per service. Everything else is reused, whether the tenant is ours, a partner's or your own.

1

Define the thing model

Device type, telemetry, events and commands.

2

Connect devices

IoT SIM, protocol adapter, provisioning.

3

Configure rules

Thresholds and alarms from templates.

4

Compose capabilities

Dashboard, billing, notifications, AI.

5

Launch the tenant

Portal, app, users, SLA, go-live.

For developers

  • REST APIs and SDK for telemetry, commands, billing and tenants
  • MQTT, LwM2M and CoAP device protocols; LoRaWAN server
  • Webhooks to your CRM, ERP, NOC or billing
  • Sandbox tenant on request

For device vendors

  • Certify any cellular or LoRaWAN device onto the platform
  • Thing model template, test plan and conformance report
  • Listed in the certified device catalogue for every tenant

For channel partners

  • Resell tenants on the platform owner's contract
  • Integrators build domain apps on the shared capabilities
  • Revenue share per tenant; joint go-to-market
